Why have we stopped sugar? Sugar is the leading cause of obesity and obesity can lead to cancer, diabetes and cardiovascular problems.
Why did we stop using glucose syrup? All products labeled "sucrose-free" actually contain glucose syrup as a substitute, but this is not a consumer benefit as it is high in calories.
We use maltitol in place of sugar. Maltitol is a naturally occurring polyol, with about half the calories of normal sucrose and a low glycemic index.
